Instructional Swim LessonsOur American Red Cross certified swimming classes offer programs designed to teach individuals swimming techniques to feel safe in the water. We offer a variety of levels, starting at the basics and going all the way into Lifeguard and Water Safety Instruction training. We even have lessons for individuals with special needs or fear of the water on a one-on-one private basis. These classes are designed for students who would benefit from one-on-one instruction. This could include students who need additional instruction time, students with disabilities, students who have a difficult time in a group setting, or adult swimmers. Browse our class offerings, enroll online, and feel free to contact our Community Services office with any additional questions you may have.Enroll for one session at a time to allow the participant the opportunity to improve his/her swimming skills at his/her own pace. The enrollment should be for the CHILD as the participant, not the parent or guardian. Junior Golf LeagueGolfParticipants will play in 3, 5, or 9 holes of league-style golf, based on age and ability. No golf course membership is required—the user fee covers all play during the session. A limited number of golf club sets are available for those who need them. During enrollment please indicate Parent volunteers are needed on Mondays to walk along and help keep score for the 3 Hole and 5 Hole groups. Don’t worry—you won’t be expected to lead! Your role is simply to support our newer golfers with basic scoring and course etiquette. If you're willing to help, please let us know by filling out the volunteer section during enrollment. Level 1GymnasticsOur Level 1 Gymnastics class is perfect for gymnasts who are ready to take the next step beyond the basics. This class focuses on strength, body control, and proper technique while continuing to develop foundational gymnastics skills across all four events: vault, bars, beam, and floor. Athletes will learn new shapes, stronger positions, and more complex movements in a fun, safe, and supportive environment. Here’s what your gymnast will be working on: VAULT SKILLS Running with arm circle + hurdle onto a line Practicing rebounds on spotting blocks (for power + control) Board drills with arm circle jumps using a springboard Backward rebounds onto a spotting block for body awareness and landing control BARS SKILLS 2 pike glides in a row (building rhythm and timing) Pike glide with a re-grasp grip Pull-up and pullover from a block (with light spot) Intro to back-hip circles with tight, hollow form 2 tight hollow casts in a row (hips off the bar!) Jump to squat-on using a floor bar on panel mats BEAM SKILLS (All done independently – no spotter) Straight jump with stick finish on medium beam Pivot turns with arms in crown Arabesque hold to 30° for 3 seconds Learning dance positions: coupé, passé, and horizontal leg hold Beginner cartwheel on the laser beam (intro to acro on beam!) This class continues to build on foundational skills with a focus on form, control, and consistency across vault, bars, beam, and floor. Gymnasts will begin connecting skills, developing power, and refining positions to prepare for higher-level gymnastics. Here’s what your gymnast will be working on: VAULT SKILLS Running hurdle with arm circle to springboard Jump to resi mat with tight, extended body position Handstand flat-back on 8” mat (tight body, no pike) Arm circle coordination and rebounding with power BARS SKILLS Strong pull-ups and pullovers from standing position Tap swings with re-grasp and body tension Hollow horizontal casts (no arch, tight legs) Back-hip circle in hollow position with light spot Cast to squat-on using floor bar on blocks Glide swings connected in a row (maintaining tight form) BEAM SKILLS (Spotting only when necessary) Tuck and split jumps on medium beam with stick finish Pivot turns with posture and control Cartwheels on laser and low beam (spot as needed) Handstand on laser beam (T to hands, lunge finish) Arabesque to 45° with 3-second hold Dance shapes: coupé, passé, and horizontal leg hold with balance Backward jump off beam (no hands, controlled landing + sparkle) FLOOR SKILLS Tuck, wolf, straddle, and split jumps (improving height and shape) Cartwheel on a line with clean form and control Handstand (kick with straight leg, hold for 1–2 seconds) Bridge kick-over off panel mat (tight legs) Back walkover with light spot (good form and posture) 180° heel snap turn in passé Split leap to 60°+ with reach and lift This class encourages gymnasts to refine their form, connect skills, and build confidence as they progress through more advanced elements.
