Welcome to the stage! Start your blossoming theatre career with us this Summer! All kids who have completed grades 1-12 are invited to participate. Speaking and non-speaking parts are available with acting instructions included. The rehearsal and performance schedule is subject to change, and will be announced prior to the start of each day's class.
The script will be 'Beowulf on a Budget', by Eddie McPherson. When a thief steals the community theatre’s extravagant costumes and props just before opening night of Beowulf, they do what all good theatre folks do — they improvise! With a plastic bucket for his helmet, a mop for his sword, and a suit of mail (literally!) for his armor, Beowulf battles the ferocious monster Grendel. All the other characters, including Grendel and Grendel’s mother, are costumed in similar tongue-in-cheek fashion. Just wait till you see how the servant helps the queen with her train!
All students should attend Monday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for auditions and general information. The Tuesday-Thursday schedule will be shared with students on Monday, based on age and role in the production. Friday's schedule will be include a wrap-up pizza party lunch, dress rehearsal, and final performance in the afternoon in the Charles D. Martin auditorium.
Friday's performance is free for all who would like to attend, so invite the world! We hope you break a leg with us this Summer!!
