Lifeguard Certification (Varied Schedule)

Lifeguard Certification

This class will provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies in a pool. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a 2 year American Red Cross certification in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and First Aid. You must attend ALL sessions and complete the entire course to receive certification.
Times are subject to change, and instructor will work with all participants to complete all hours.

Prerequisites:

1. Must be 15 years of age by class completion (valid form of identification is required).
2. Swim 300 yards of Crawl stroke or Breaststroke or a combination of those two strokes to complete the 300 yards.
3. Time swim of 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive in depth of 9 feet, retrieve a 10 lbs object, return to the surface and swim 20 yards back to starting point.
4. Must be able to tread water without use of arms for 2 minutes.
