Level 1

This class is for gymnasts who have passed Beginner level. In this hour-long class, gymnasts will participate in a warm-up routine that helps them build their strength and flexibility. Gymnasts will then split into small groups to work with coaches to learn gymnastics skills on all four events. Some skills worked on in this class are:

Vault: Running with an arm circle/ hurdle, rebounds to a spotting block, jumping to a springboard with an arm circle.

Bars: 2 pike glides in a row, re-grasp grips, pull-up/pullover (w/ Light Spot from Block), beginning to learn a back-hip circle, and continuing to perfect a squat-on, with a floor bar.

Beam: Continue becoming comfortable on the medium/ high beam by jumping and pivoting. Start working on cartwheels on the laser beam.

Floor: Learn the different kinds of jumps, perfect a straight leg bridge, and continue learning the basics of a good handstand and cartwheel.
