Kids with Big Feelings!Daytime ClassesHelping Kids with Big Feelings: A Calm-Parent Toolkit This four-week series gives parents practical, brain-based tools to support children through overwhelming emotions. Each session blends simple science, realistic strategies, and relatable examples to help families feel more confident and connected. Week 1 – Why Kids Have Big Feelings We’ll break down how children’s brains develop and why behaviors like tantrums, whining, and big reactions are actually signals — not “bad behavior.” Parents will learn what’s happening under the surface and how to respond with clarity instead of frustration. Week 2 – Co-Regulation: Tools for Calming & Teaching Skills This week focuses on the core of emotional support: co-regulation. Parents will practice simple techniques that help kids settle their bodies and emotions, while also learning how to model key regulation skills at home. Week 3 – What To Do In the Moment Tantrums, anger, anxiety — oh my. We’ll walk through exactly what to do (and what not to do) during those tough moments. Parents will leave with step-by-step strategies they can use right away. Week 4 – Building Long-Term Resilience & Coping Skills In our final week, we’ll explore how to help children develop stronger emotional resilience over time. From coping strategies to proactive routines, parents will learn how to create an environment where kids can thrive emotionally.
