This Culinary STEM class is designed for people to learn some Biology and Chemistry concepts as well as learn cooking techniques. We will be making an edible craft: Edible DNA. Let's have some fun while we cook, eat and learn about DNA and Genetics!

Adults with Exceptional Abilities are the most amazing adults getting together for fun, fellowship, and some fun activities. Missy Kahl is a paraprofessional from LFCHS and will facilitate these activities. Join us for a variety of crafts, activities, and fun throughout the year. You can even suggest a new activity they haven't tried yet! Class is held on the first Saturday of each month, and details for the specific activity will be shown in the 'section' information below.Please note: Attendees of many ability levels can participate, but if you require assistance to participate independently, please provide your own personal assistant and equipment as required for your participation. Fees are intended to benefit the participant of the class. All projects, activities and materials used for the class will only be provided for the participant. If you have any questions about what this can look like for you, please call Community Services and we can make a plan to fit your needs.

Let’s pop into winter with a tasty twist! In this fun and hands-on Culinary STEM class, we’ll explore the science behind one of your favorite snacks—popcorn! Learn about what makes those kernels pop, then mix up your own snowy, sweet, and winter-themed popcorn treat. We'll craft, cook, snack, and learn all about Popcorn Chemistry along the way. It’s science you can eat—what could be better?

Come and explore your senses while you make your very own KINETIC SAND. Mold your imagination and let your creativity flow! We will be using regular household items to make this fascinating substance. It’s mesmerizing, it’s satisfying, and once in your hands you can’t put it down! Watch them explore, shape, slice, scoop, squish, smash and flow again and again!

Winter Wonderland Snow Ball Get ready to sparkle and shine at our Winter Wonderland Snow Ball—a magical evening for adults with disabilities, their friends & families! Hosted by Morrison County Abilities Connection, this special event will feel like an adult prom, filled with music, dancing, laughter, food, and friendship. Come dressed in your best party attire and step into a snow-themed wonderland where memories are made. You’ll get to pick your own Pop It to keep, play some awesome games (with chances to win even MORE fidgets!), and take home your tasty creations to share—if they make it that far!

In this sweet and creative class, you’ll build your own Cupcake in a Jar using your favorite combos of cake, frosting, fruit filling, sprinkles, and more. Mix, match, and layer your way to dessert perfection! These tasty treats are fun to make, easy to take home, and perfect for parties or just sharing with friends (or not!). Come get messy, creative, and deliciously inspired!
