Using simple tools like freezer bags and ice, you’ll learn the science behind making ice cream—yes, real ice cream! Through hands-on, inquiry-based learning, we’ll explore how ingredients change as they freeze. Then, we’ll wrap up with an epic ice cream social, complete with tons of toppings and flavored syrups. Come chill out, learn something new, and have a blast with your friends!

Instructor

Charlene Bzdok is a licensed educator with over 25 years of experience teaching science in a classroom setting. During her career, she’s taught a diverse selection of topics—including biology, math, chemistry, entomology, bird ecology, life science, physics, and more. In addition to her work in classrooms across Minnesota—working with students from different cultures and backgrounds—she’s also taught abroad in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Today, she organizes a range of community education courses to help students across over 30 school districts discover the basic principles of science, technology, physics, and of course baking and cake pop decoration.Â
