Adaptive Gymnastics

Join us for a semi- structured gymnastics class taught and supervised by a knowledgeable gymnastics coach and teacher.

Who is this class for: Young adults/adults 16 and older that are able to jump and run independently and safely. Participants must also be able to follow 2-3 step directions with little assistance. 

How the class is structured: gymnasts will participate in a short warm up song and stretching routine. Coach Amanda will teach the skills being worked on at each event (floor and beam first and then bars and trampoline second). The gymnasts will then be able to complete the tasks at their own pace open gym style. The gymnasts will be able to do the activities that interest them during the open time. We will then end with a coach lead group activity.

Helpers/Paras: Each participant must bring their own aid/para to help them safely participate in the class and perform the activities in the class. Active participation from all aids/paras will be expected (don’t worry, they will have fun too). 

When are classes: Classes will be held every Wednesday from 9:00-10:00 whenever school is in session. There will be 2 optional skill showcases in the evenings (one in the winter and one in the spring) that the gymnasts can participate in to show those close to them all of the fun things they learn during the class.
