Hall WalkingAdult RecreationSeveral Little Falls schools will be open for you to walk in during the fall and winter months. We encourage you to walk, using ourschool facilities to keep physically fit. All buildings are easily accessible and have level walking surfaces that are free of snow and ice!Schedules for hall walking are as follows:Lincoln Elementary 4:00 PM - 7:00 PMLindbergh Elementary 4:00-8:00 PMLittle Falls Community Middle School 4:00 PM - 8:00 PMBeginning October 20 all listed sites will be open Monday through Friday, except holidays and non-school days. Other activities may be occurring in these buildings during walking hours. Access to area schools is as follows:Lincoln Elementary - Custodial Door #20 on the North side of the buildingLindbergh Elementary - Door #12, to the right of main entrance, on upper East side of buildingLittle Falls Middle School - Main Door #1 on the North side of the building Due to the high level of other activities that occur on a daily basis at the High School, no walking access is allowed in that building. Because of security issues, it is required that you register with Little Falls Community Services before beginning your walking program. This also allows us to contact you in regards to any emergency closings, etc. Prior to entering the buildings, each participant IS REQUIRED to pick up their hard plastic hall walking pass from the Community Services office, located at 14800 Riverwood Drive, Little Falls. Home Alone!YouthIs your child ready for the independence of being home alone? Parents need to be sure their children have the skills and maturity to handle the responsibility safely. Whether for an hour after school or several hours a day during the summer, being trusted to be home alone can be a positive experience for a mature and well-prepared child. This class for children will address several topics relating to being “Home Alone,” including age guidelines, safe habits, house rules, after-school routines, phone calls and door knocks, dog emergencies, personal safety, handling the unexpected, gun safety, severe weather, fire safety, intruders, and basic first aid tips. Instructional Swim LessonsOur American Red Cross certified swimming classes offer programs designed to teach individuals swimming techniques to feel safe in the water. We offer a variety of levels, starting at the basics and going all the way into Lifeguard and Water Safety Instruction training. We even have lessons for individuals with special needs or fear of the water on a one-on-one private basis. These classes are designed for students who would benefit from one-on-one instruction. This could include students who need additional instruction time, students with disabilities, students who have a difficult time in a group setting, or adult swimmers. Browse our class offerings, enroll online, and feel free to contact our Community Services office with any additional questions you may have.Enroll for one session at a time to allow the participant the opportunity to improve his/her swimming skills at his/her own pace. The enrollment should be for the CHILD as the participant, not the parent or guardian. This is a 'separating' class, where only the participant is allowed in the instruction space. Each session blends simple science, realistic strategies, and relatable examples to help families feel more confident and connected. Week 1 – Why Kids Have Big Feelings We’ll break down how children’s brains develop and why behaviors like tantrums, whining, and big reactions are actually signals — not “bad behavior.” Parents will learn what’s happening under the surface and how to respond with clarity instead of frustration. Week 2 – Co-Regulation: Tools for Calming & Teaching Skills This week focuses on the core of emotional support: co-regulation. Parents will practice simple techniques that help kids settle their bodies and emotions, while also learning how to model key regulation skills at home. Week 3 – What To Do In the Moment Tantrums, anger, anxiety — oh my. We’ll walk through exactly what to do (and what not to do) during those tough moments. Level 1GymnasticsThis class is for gymnasts who have passed Beginner level. In this hour-long class, gymnasts will participate in a warm-up routine that helps them build their strength and flexibility. Gymnasts will then split into small groups to work with coaches to learn gymnastics skills on all four events. Some skills worked on in this class are: -Vault: Running with an arm circle/ hurdle, rebounds to a spotting block, jumping to a springboard with an arm circle. Bars: 2 pike glides in a row, re-grasp grips, pull-up/pullover (w/ Light Spot from Block), beginning to learn a back-hip circle, and continuing to perfect a squat-on, with a floor bar. Beam: Continue becoming comfortable on the medium/ high beam by jumping and pivoting. Start working on cartwheels on the laser beam. Floor: Learn the different kinds of jumps, perfect a straight leg bridge, and continue learning the basics of a good handstand and cartwheel. Tuesday/Thursday: (8 sessions in March and 8 sessions in April. You can sign up for both months or just one of the months, please note there will be NO leveling up between the two months.2026

Gymnasts will then split into small groups to work with coaches to learn gymnastics skills on all four events. Some skills worked on in this class are: Vault: Hurdle and arm circle onto a spring board onto feet up onto Resi and a Standing Handstand Flat-back on 8” Mat. Bars: Pull-up / pull over from standing, tap Swings (with regrip), casts, backhip circles, and squat-ons. Beam: Jumps and turns on the medium/high beam. Cartwheels and handstands on the low beam. Floor: Jumps and leaps with good form. Cartwheels with good form. Bridge kick overs and back walk-overs. Tuesday/Thursday: (8 sessions in March and 8 sessions in April. Level 3Gymnastics-Level three: for gymnasts who have passed level 2. In this hour class, gymnasts will participate in a warm-up routine that helps them build their strength and flexibility. Gymnasts will then split into small groups to work towards learning the skills and etiquette needed to compete in gymnastics. Some skills worked on in this class are: What a routine looks like on each event, how to start and end a routine, how to avoid deductions in a routine (to avoid creating bad habits while practicing). Vault: Handstand flatbacks onto Resi and start to handspring onto Resi. Bars: Pull Up / pull Over (without spot), Back-hip circles (without spot), begin working on glide kips / kip with spot), 3 taps swings in a row on the high bar, cast squat-on on the low bar (without Spot). Beam: Continue perfecting jumps on the medium/high beam, cartwheels on the medium/high beam, begin working on mounting the beam, and handstands on medium beam. Floor: Perfecting leaps and jumps with good form, cartwheels and round-offs with good form, backward rolls to hollow, back walkovers, back handsprings down an incline, and handstand to bridge or front walkovers Tuesday/Thursday: (8 sessions in March and 8 sessions in April.
