Babies on the MoveGymnasticsBabies on the Move: This class is for babies birth to 18 months. In this class, grown-ups and their baby will participate in songs and activities that help develop a babies gross motor and social skills.2027 -
BeginnerGymnasticsThis class is for gymnasts in Kindergarten and older or those who have passed the Munchkin level. In this 45-minute class, gymnasts will warm up and stretch with a few fun songs. Gymnasts will then split into small groups to work with coaches to learn gymnastics skills on all four events. Some skills worked on in this class are: Vault: Pumping arms while running, tight body standing jumps and rebounds, and arm circles. Bars: Front support, hollow casts, pull overs, and beginning to learn a squat-on. Beam: Becoming more comfortable on the meduim/high beam by walking, kicking, and jumping. Floor: Straight jumps, forward rolls, backwards rolls, bridges, and beginning to learn a cartwheel.2027 -
Driver's Education - ClassroomDriver's ServicesClasses will meet for three hours each class session. Students enrolling in Classroom Driver's Education should be within 2 months of turning 15 by the end of the last date of the Driver's Education Class. Students MUST BE 15 in order to take the permit test. PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGES TO THE PAYMENT PROCESS. THE REGISTRATION FEE HOLDS YOUR PARTICIPANTS' SPOT IN THE CLASS. THE REMAINING CLASS FEE AND BEHIND-THE-WHEEL COSTS REQUIRE PAYMENT DIRECTLY TO MILLE LACS DRIVING INSTRUCTION. 2026 FEE SCHEDULE IS $125 FOR CLASSROOM EDUCATION, AND $320 FOR BEHIND-THE-WHEEL. Completion of ALL classroom in-class work and homework. Full payment of $225 Mille Lacs Driving Instruction course fee no later than start of first class date. KarateKarateLearn authentic Japanese Karate. Striking, punching, and kicking your way to better health, improved coordination, concentration, and overall flexibility. Develop athletic skills applicable to many sports and recreation. This class is open to anyone with little or no experience. There is an opportunity for rank advancement and competition. Instructor: Sensei Tim Kiel, 7th Degree Black Belt, Central MN Karate This class will be held in the PAC of Lindbergh Elementary. This is a 'separating' class, where only the participant is allowed in the instruction space. Students and families are not allowed in any other are of the building while waiting for Karate, please be prompt for drop off and pick up at door #12 of Lindbergh Elementary. K-2nd grade students will ride a transfer bus from Lincoln Elementary to Lindbergh, then enter the building and go into the PAC.2027 -
Level 1GymnasticsThis class is for gymnasts who have passed Beginner level. In this hour-long class, gymnasts will participate in a warm-up routine that helps them build their strength and flexibility. Gymnasts will then split into small groups to work with coaches to learn gymnastics skills on all four events. Some skills worked on in this class are: Vault: Running with an arm circle/ hurdle, rebounds to a spotting block, jumping to a springboard with an arm circle. Bars: 2 pike glides in a row, re-grasp grips, pull-up/pullover (w/ Light Spot from Block), beginning to learn a back-hip circle, and continuing to perfect a squat-on, with a floor bar. Beam: Continue becoming comfortable on the medium/ high beam by jumping and pivoting. Start working on cartwheels on the laser beam. Floor: Learn the different kinds of jumps, perfect a straight leg bridge, and continue learning the basics of a good handstand and cartwheel.2027 -
Level 2GymnasticsThis course is for gymnasts who have passed level one. In this hour-long class, gymnasts will participate in a warm-uproutine that helps them build their strength and flexibility. Gymnasts will then split into small groups to work with coaches to learn gymnastics skills on all four events. Some skills worked on in this class are: Vault: Hurdle and arm circle onto a spring board onto feet up onto Resi and a Standing Handstand Flat-back on 8” Mat. Bars: Pull-up / pull over from standing, tap Swings (with regrip), casts, backhip circles, and squat-ons. Beam: Jumps and turns on the medium/high beam. Cartwheels and handstands on the low beam. Floor: Jumps and leaps with good form. Cartwheels with good form. Bridge kick overs and back walk-overs.2027 -
Level 3GymnasticsLevel three: for gymnasts who have passed level 2. In this hour class, gymnasts will participate in a warm-up routine that helps them build their strength and flexibility. Gymnasts will then split into small groups to work towards learning the skills and etiquette needed to compete in gymnastics. Some skills worked on in this class are: What a routine looks like on each event, how to start and end a routine, how to avoid deductions in a routine (to avoid creating bad habits while practicing). Vault: Handstand flatbacks onto Resi and start to handspring onto Resi. Bars: Pull Up / pull Over (without spot), Back-hip circles (without spot), begin working on glide kips / kip with spot), 3 taps swings in a row on the high bar, cast squat-on on the low bar (without Spot). Beam: Continue perfecting jumps on the medium/high beam, cartwheels on the medium/high beam, begin working on mounting the beam, and handstands on medium beam. Floor: Perfecting leaps and jumps with good form, cartwheels and round-offs with good form, backward rolls to hollow, back walkovers, back handsprings down an incline, and handstand to bridge or front walkovers2027 -
MunchkinGymnasticsMunchkins:This class is for children ages 3-5 to do the class independently. In this 45 minute class, gymnasts will warm up and stretch with a few fun songs. They will then participate in obstacle courses, working on basic gymnastics and body awareness skills on all four events.2027 -
Open Swim PassesRecreationalThese passes are great for family fun or a day out with friends on non-school days and at other times throughout the school year! Please recognize, these dates are not intended for lap swim or adult physical training. Use this pass to access the Middle School Pool and locker rooms with showers. Enter the Middle School Door 1 (main entry). If you have purchased a pass online, please show your confirmation to the building monitor at the concessions area inside the door. Day passes can be purchased at the pool from the building monitor on duty for $5.00 per individual, or $12.00 for a family (up to 5 people at the same address.) CASH AND CREDIT CARDS ARE NOW ACCEPTED! Children must be at least 8 years of age and at least 52" tall to swim alone. Children who do not meet these standards must be accompanied in the water by an adult. The pool may need to be closed without notice if there is any condition that endangers the health or safety of the public, as stated by the Minnesota State Health Department. In this event, it may be at least 24 hours before the pool can be reopened. Swim passes also gain you access to the gym area if it is available! DATES AND TIMES: DUE TO THE VARIABILITY OF OUR STAFF SCHEDULES, OUR OPEN SWIM DATES WILL BE SENT OUT VIA A MIX OF DIRECT TEXT MESSAGES TO THOSE WITH A COMMUNITY SERVICES ACCOUNT, AS WELL AS POSTED ON FACEBOOK.
