SourdoughAdult EducationWhat is a sourdough class? This is a class to teach you about the unique skills it takes to make a basic sourdough loaf of bread as well as how to care for your starter. We will touch on the benefits of sourdough and why it is good for your gut health. Who is the class meant for? This class is for anyone who is interested in learning the basics of baking sourdough. What will you learn? You will learn the fundamentals of caring for a sourdough starter. As well as how to mix and bake your classic sourdough loaf. What will you need to bring? Nothing!! What will you bring home? This class will provide you with the unique things that you may not have in your kitchen such as a sourdough starter, a sourdough wisk, banaton basket, flour to care for your starter for the first few days you have it at home, recipes, and notes on what the class was all about. There will be lots of sourdough goodies to taste and sample! What do you need at home to use your new skills? You will need to make sure your kitchen has a large mixing bowl - preferably glass or stainless steel, but plastic will work if need be. You will need a Dutch oven, kitchen scraper, a wooden spoon, parchment paper, and a kitchen scale. If you don’t have a kitchen scale Walmart in Little Falls carries a basic one for about $12.00. This class is going to be upbeat , hands on and very fun. You will get your fingers dirty learning to do stretch and folds as well as shaping your loaf. Come hungry because you will want to taste the goodness! This class will teach the basics but sourdough is more than just bread, it can be bagels, crackers, muffins and even tortillas shells! So start small and come learn what might be your newest hobby! What to Expect: Interactive Learning: The class will be structured to encourage participation, allowing you to ask questions and share your experiences as we go along. Don't hesitate to voice your thoughts or concerns; this is a welcoming environment for all levels of bakers. Step-by-Step Guidance: We will walk through each step of the sourdough-making process together. From creating the perfect starter to the final bake, you'll have support every step of the way. Troubleshooting Tips: Baking can sometimes lead to unexpected results. We’ll discuss common issues you might encounter, such as dough that’s too sticky or a loaf that doesn’t rise, and how to resolve them effectively. Sourdough Variations: While our focus will be on the classic loaf, you'll also get a glimpse into the possibilities that sourdough offers. Learn how to make different types of bread and baked goods, expanding your skills beyond the basics. Sourdough 102: Bread Inclusions, Cupcakes & More! Once you've mastered the basics, this is a great next step. You will learn how to add bold flavors to your bread, as well as use up your extra starter on some tasty new treats. Sourdough 103: Next Level Crackers, tortillas, etc. Kick off the new year by cleaning out your pantry with some healthier options of your basic staples, all made from sourdough! What to Look Forward To: Take-Home Samples: In addition to the starter and tools, you’ll leave with some of the delicious baked goods we create in class. Share them with friends and family or enjoy them yourself! Community Connection: Connect with fellow baking enthusiasts who share your passion. This class is not just about learning; it's also an opportunity to build friendships and exchange ideas. Future Classes and Resources: At the end of our session, we’ll discuss opportunities for further learning, including advanced baking classes and online resources where you can continue your sourdough journey.2024

Toddler Time in the GymPre-KA safe and nurturing environment where your child can learn and grow alongside their peers, with you providing essential support and encouragement. Watch as your child develops new motor skills while taking supervised, yet exciting, risks. This program is designed to foster your child's physical, mental, social, and emotional development, all within a comfortable, encouraging environment. Your child will have the opportunity to practice various motor skills like walking, running, jumping, and learn fun skills such as monkey jumps, donkey kicks, and forward rolls. We'll also delve into concepts like colors, numbers, rhythm, and spatial awareness (over, under, around, through). Additionally, your child will learn to listen and follow directions with your support while playing with new friends. We create a comfortable and engaging environment for exploration by incorporating a diverse selection of materials including balls, bubbles, rhythm sticks, parachutes, beanbags, scarves, hula hoops, as well as safe equipment like bars, beams, incline mats, and barrel mats. As a parent or guardian, your participation, positive feedback, and support play a crucial role in your child's exploration. The more you actively participate and model behavior in class, the more comfortable your child will feel exploring and learning alongside you or independently. Children look up to the adults in their lives to learn how to feel and act. Therefore, we emphasize providing positive feedback through smiles, claps, hugs, reassurance, and patience, while holding little expectations for your child during class.2025

Toddler Time in the PoolRecreationalIt is never too early to introduce your child to the water! Our parent-child lessons are a great way for parents (or guardians, or grandparents...any special adult) to bond with their children while teaching them all about water safety. No prior swim experience is required. 1 adult is required to be in the water with each child. This adult is responsible for participation in the class - the teacher will be providing instruction to all participants, not one-on-one with a child. If your child is not potty-trained, a SWIM diaper is required. If you come unprepared, a swim diaper will be provided for purchase, or participation will not be allowed.2024
