Summer Olympic Weightlifting
Weightlifting is a tremendous sport and is extremely beneficial to athletic performance and the health of the body. Some of the physical benefits are improved confidence, changes in body composition, the importance of taking care of the body, setting and challenging personal records, and managing stress and pressure. The Summer weightlifting program will focus on additional training for athletes participating in Olympic Weightlifting during the school year, as well as serious lifters who are interested in direct instruction of safe and proper techniques of the associated movements. expectations are that this will not be a 'free lifting' time, but a directed program. All instruction is coached by a certified USA Weightlifting Advanced Weightlifting and Sports Performance Coach, so your athlete will get the highest level of training available! Girls Basketball - Grade 6
Sixth Grade students will join the 7th-8th Grade Middle School Basketball Program. Students will participate in practices and a selection of games determined by coaches. Information regarding games to be communicated by coaches prior to event. Skip dates listed follow district calendar, coaches will confirm and communicate any non-practice dates or changes in schedule. This opportunity will include strenuous workouts for kids with previous basketball experience. If you feel that your child does not meet this criteria, they have an opportunity to play with the Little Falls Youth Basketball Association. Open Gym Passes
Feeling a bit cooped up and need a break from the daily routine? Why not shake off that cabin fever with a fun morning at the Middle School Gym? Whether you're in the mood for a game of volleyball, shooting some hoops, or just running around with friends, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Come join us for a bit of exercise and a lot of fun! We encourage online enrollments. If there are no enrollments online for any given open swim day, we will cancel that session without notice. Day passes can be purchased at the gym from the monitor on duty. CASH ONLY FOR DAY PASSES ON SITE! You may bring your own equipment (balls, rackets, etc.), but nothing with wheels or things that will damage the gym floor. No food or drinks except water allowed in the gym. Snacks are available for purchase in the concession stand area. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Gym passes do NOT gain you access to utilize the pool or lockers. If you wish to swim, please purchase an Open Swim pass. No organized association practices allowed during this time - it is shared community space! Punchcards: If you purchase a punchcard, it will be kept in a file at the concession stand with your family name on it. The monitor on duty will punch your card at each use. Once used up you can purchase a replacement card if desired. Please note: In case of emergencies, cancellation notices are sent out via text to the number on your account. Pitching Warm-up
We have all seen how much pitching can affect the outcome of a game. Now is the time to start developing and improving your skills for next year. Athletes will be working with Coach Abbott, who has over 20 years of coaching experience working with athletes ages 8-19. He has learned the essential biomechanics of pitching and avoids unsafe methods. His dedication to education enhances his teaching skills, helping students reach top pitching levels. He combines video and a small group setting to provide comprehensive instruction. Clinics will include the use of video analysis and pitch speed timing. Series 1: This progressive series is a camp where each week will build on the previous week. Week 1 starts with basic fundamentals, mostly arm and wrist drills. Week 2 will focus on stance and arm path. Week 3 gets the legs involved and week 4 we put it all together and spend the hour just pitching. It is important that you can attend all sessions in order to get the full value of this series. Series 2: This series will focus on working on pieces of mechanics to improve upon and adding a change up. This series is appropriate for the kids that have had some formal training and experience pitching. Beginning pitchers should sign up for Series 1 to get the most benefit in their skills. Please bring a glove, dry tennis shoes, workout clothes, and a catcher if possible. It will be beneficial for pitchers to find their own catcher to work with them during instruction. Catchers who attend will get an opportunity to work on catching skills during pitching drills, and catchers do not pay a user fee. -
Track & Field - Grade 6
Sixth Grade students will join the 7th-8th Grade Middle School Track & Field Program. Students will participate in practices and a selection of track meets determined by coaches and communicated to athletes prior to event. Athletes should report to the Middle School Commons area unless told otherwise by coaches. They should wear weather appropriate comfortable athletic clothing and running shoes. Coaches will confirm and communicate any non-practice dates or changes to schedule. -

Spring Youth Basketball
Join the Flyer Varsity Basketball staff to improve your basketball skills. These workouts will focus on the development of fundamentals. Players will spend a majority of the time working with coaches on various drills geared toward player development. There will also be an emphasis on learning offensive and defensive principles through a variety of drills and games. -
Art Sparks
Want to ignite the spark of your child's creativity? Explore paint, sculpture, color, form and more. Each month will offer classes that will focus on different art styles and mediums. Everything from clay to watercolor to line drawings will be examined, taught and re-imagined. These classes are great for kids who are already creative and love to have more opportunities to dabble, as well as kids who are just starting to flex their artistic muscles.Each month will be registered for separately, so kids can sign up for one or more. Ice Cream Science
This class is designed for youth to have FUN while learning some science concepts (inquiry based). We will be using the simplest of techniques (freezer bags and ice) - An ice cream social is planned at the end of class with lots of flavored syrups and toppings to choose from. Lindy's Dance Team Summer League
The Little Falls Dance Team is excited to announce our summer dance program! We're welcoming all students entering grades 7-12 from the Little Falls, Royalton, and Pillager school districts. Whether you're a current member of the team or interested in joining the LFDT Winter Dance Team, this program is for you. Don’t worry about your experience level—everyone from beginners to seasoned dancers is encouraged to participate. Our dedicated coaches will work with each dancer to enhance their skills, build endurance, strength, and flexibility, and focus on mastering proper dance techniques. Summer Tennis
We offer a variety of courses for all skill levels—whether you're just picking up a racket or preparing for varsity competition. Our tennis lessons are a great way to learn the game, build skills, and stay active in a fun and supportive environment. Grades K-5, Beginner: This class is designed for those who are new to tennis. Players will start with the basics, including how to properly hold and swing a racket. Fundamental strokes such as forehands, backhands, volleys, and serves will be introduced. Emphasis is placed on developing coordination, control, and the ability to rally. Grades K-5, Advanced: For players who are comfortable with the basic strokes and want to work on consistency, accuracy, and strategy. This class focuses on refining technique, point construction, and match play situations. Players will also have the opportunity to play out games and sets. Please note: The instructors will assess skill level of athletes in grades K-5, and may move them between beginner/advanced based on mastery of skills. Grades 6–11: Designed for middle and high school girls who are planning on competing in JV or varsity tennis. This session includes individual instruction along with group training in speed, agility, and strength—specifically tailored for tennis performance. The focus is on preparing players physically and mentally for competitive high school play. Match Play: Match Play is open to players who want to put their skills into action in a friendly but competitive environment. Held on Tuesdays, these sessions offer structured matches where players can gain valuable experience, practice game strategy, and enjoy the excitement of real match situations. It’s a perfect supplement to lessons and a great way to improve through competetive play. -

This class is ONLY for those who participated on the High School team during the previous gymnastics season. It is designed to complement high school gymnastics with Summer conditioning, and is instructed by the Varsity coaching staff. PLEASE NOTE: Parents and siblings are not allowed in the gymnastics area during instruction time. Beginner
Our Beginner Gymnastics class is the perfect starting point for young athletes ready to explore the exciting world of gymnastics! This class focuses on body awareness, strength, flexibility, and basic gymnastics skills on all four events: vault, bars, beam, and floor — all taught in a fun, safe, and encouraging environment. Here’s what we’ll be working on: VAULT SKILLS Running with fast, strong arms Practicing tight, bouncy jumps (rebounding through toes!) Learning arm circle steps over foam blocks Building confidence in dynamic movement and take-off positions BAR SKILLS Holding a strong front support with straight arms and hollow body Practicing hollow casts (with assistance if needed) Learning pike and hollow glides with toes forward and arms by ears Pull-ups to chin and beginning pullovers from a higher mat (with light coach support) Intro to squat-on jumps using a floor bar BEAM SKILLS (all independent – no spotter) Forward walks on high toe with airplane arms High kicks with straight legs on medium beam Straight jumps with arms by ears, finishing tight and strong Jumping off the end with balance, control, and a sparkle finish FLOOR SKILLS Straight jumps with a strong stick and finish Forward rolls down an incline and on the floor (focusing on knees together and no hands to stand) Backward rolls down an incline Spider handstand holds facing a wall or block Bridge holds with head off the ground (no spot!) Beginner cartwheels with proper hand placement and form Each class combines movement & music to keep kids motivated while helping them develop the fundamentals of gymnastics. Whether your child is brand new or building on basic skills, this class provides a strong, supportive foundation to help them shine! The last day of each session will be a time for parents to come in and see the awesome skills their athlete has learned! Your child's skill level will be assessed during their first class period. The lead instructor will determine if the child is equipped to complete the class. Our Level 1 Gymnastics class is perfect for gymnasts who are ready to take the next step beyond the basics. This class focuses on strength, body control, and proper technique while continuing to develop foundational gymnastics skills across all four events: vault, bars, beam, and floor. Athletes will learn new shapes, stronger positions, and more complex movements in a fun, safe, and supportive environment. Here’s what your gymnast will be working on: VAULT SKILLS Running with arm circle + hurdle onto a line Practicing rebounds on spotting blocks (for power + control) Board drills with arm circle jumps using a springboard Backward rebounds onto a spotting block for body awareness and landing control BARS SKILLS 2 pike glides in a row (building rhythm and timing) Pike glide with a re-grasp grip Pull-up and pullover from a block (with light spot) Intro to back-hip circles with tight, hollow form 2 tight hollow casts in a row (hips off the bar!) Jump to squat-on using a floor bar on panel mats BEAM SKILLS (All done independently – no spotter) Straight jump with stick finish on medium beam Pivot turns with arms in crown Arabesque hold to 30° for 3 seconds Learning dance positions: coupé, passé, and horizontal leg hold Beginner cartwheel on the laser beam (intro to acro on beam!) FLOOR SKILLS Tuck jump stick with sparkle finish Learning jump shapes: wolf, pike, split, and straddle (trying their best!) Whether they’re mastering a strong cartwheel or trying a back-hip circle for the first time, Level 1 gymnasts are growing in strength, skill, and confidence every class! Junior Golf League
Participants will play in 3, 5, or 9 holes of league-style golf, based on age and ability. No golf course membership is required—the user fee covers all play during the session. A limited number of golf club sets are available for those who need them. During enrollment please indicate Parent volunteers are needed on Mondays to walk along and help keep score for the 3 Hole and 5 Hole groups. Don’t worry—you won’t be expected to lead! Your role is simply to support our newer golfers with basic scoring and course etiquette. If you're willing to help, please let us know by filling out the volunteer section during enrollment. Our Level 2 Gymnastics class is designed for athletes who have mastered Level 1 fundamentals and are ready to advance their strength, technique, and coordination. This class continues to build on foundational skills with a focus on form, control, and consistency across vault, bars, beam, and floor. Gymnasts will begin connecting skills, developing power, and refining positions to prepare for higher-level gymnastics. Here’s what your gymnast will be working on: VAULT SKILLS Running hurdle with arm circle to springboard Jump to resi mat with tight, extended body position Handstand flat-back on 8” mat (tight body, no pike) Arm circle coordination and rebounding with power BARS SKILLS Strong pull-ups and pullovers from standing position Tap swings with re-grasp and body tension Hollow horizontal casts (no arch, tight legs) Back-hip circle in hollow position with light spot Cast to squat-on using floor bar on blocks Glide swings connected in a row (maintaining tight form) BEAM SKILLS (Spotting only when necessary) Tuck and split jumps on medium beam with stick finish Pivot turns with posture and control Cartwheels on laser and low beam (spot as needed) Handstand on laser beam (T to hands, lunge finish) Arabesque to 45° with 3-second hold Dance shapes: coupé, passé, and horizontal leg hold with balance Backward jump off beam (no hands, controlled landing + sparkle) FLOOR SKILLS Tuck, wolf, straddle, and split jumps (improving height and shape) Cartwheel on a line with clean form and control Handstand (kick with straight leg, hold for 1–2 seconds) Bridge kick-over off panel mat (tight legs) Back walkover with light spot (good form and posture) 180° heel snap turn in passé Split leap to 60°+ with reach and lift This class encourages gymnasts to refine their form, connect skills, and build confidence as they progress through more advanced elements. Level 2 athletes will be challenged to hold tighter shapes, land with greater control, and continue building the strength and technique needed for future levels.
