  • Private Pilot Ground School

    Interested in learning how to fly? This course is designed to prepare adults for the Private Pilot Knowledge Exam and an introductory flight with an instructor. At the end of this course, you will understand operations of the flight controls and instruments, airport and airspace considerations, aircraft weight and balance, aircraft performance tables, basic weather meteorology, federal aviation regulations, flight psychology, and emergency preparedness. After completing this course, aspiring pilots (16 years and older) will be prepared to take the F.A.A. Private Pilot Knowledge Exam. This is a great way to begin an exciting career in aviation or to start a new hobby. Taught by certified flight instructors provided by Lakes Area Aviation. High School participants will receive 1 H.S. credit upon course completion.

Begin your morning with a guided tour of Fields of Plenty, where you’ll learn about our sustainable growing practices, the rhythms of the seasons, and how we care for the land that brings these blooms to life. Then, head into the fields to hand-pick your own flowers, learning what to look for—from stem strength to bloom stage—to create a bouquet that’s both vibrant and long-lasting. Under the guidance of our floral instructor, you’ll discover the art of arrangement: color pairing, structure, balance, and flow. By the end of class, you'll take home a stunning, hand-crafted bouquet that’s uniquely yours.     PiYo is a music-driven, athletic workout inspired by the mind/body practices of Pilates and yoga that also includes flexibility, strength training, conditioning and dynamic movement. It is a high-intensity, low-impact workout that uses functional exercises to work the entire body.There is a class drop-in option available. You can attend the class dates that work into your schedule. Class drop-in rates are $10 per class and must be purchased online or via phone BEFORE the morning of the class.
  • Morning Basketball

    We encourage you to head into the High School gymnasium to play some basketball and keep physically fit. The building is easily accessible and both men's and women's locker rooms with showers are available for use. To keep our buildings secure, it is required that you register with Little Falls Community Services before you access the High School prior to the school day. This also allows us to contact you in regards to any emergency closings, etc.
  • Sourdough

    What is Sourdough Basics class?This is a class to teach you about the unique skills it takes to make a basic sourdough loaf of bread as well as how to care for your starter. We will touch on the benefits of sourdough and why it is good for your gut health. Who is the class meant for?This class is for anyone who is interested in learning the basics of baking sourdough. What will you learn? You will learn the fundamentals of caring for a sourdough starter. As well as how to mix and bake your classic sourdough loaf. What will you need to bring?Nothing!!What will you bring home?This class will provide you with the unique things that you may not have in your kitchen such as a sourdough starter, a sourdough wisk, banaton basket, flour to care for your starter for the first few days you have it at home, recipes, and notes on what the class was all about. There will be lots of sourdough goodies to taste and sample! What do you need at home to use your new skills? You will need to make sure your kitchen has a large mixing bowl - preferably glass or stainless steel, but plastic will work if need be. You will need a Dutch oven, kitchen scraper, a wooden spoon, parchment paper, and a kitchen scale. If you don’t have a kitchen scale Walmart in Little Falls carries a basic one for about $12.00. This class is going to be upbeat , hands on and very fun. You will get your fingers dirty learning to do stretch and folds as well as shaping your loaf. Come hungry because you will want to taste the goodness! This class will teach the basics but sourdough is more than just bread, it can be bagels, crackers, muffins and even tortillas shells! So start small and come learn what might be your newest hobby! What to Expect: Interactive Learning: The class will be structured to encourage participation, allowing you to ask questions and share your experiences as we go along. Don't hesitate to voice your thoughts or concerns; this is a welcoming environment for all levels of bakers. Step-by-Step Guidance: We will walk through each step of the sourdough-making process together. From creating the perfect starter to the final bake, you'll have support every step of the way. Troubleshooting Tips: Baking can sometimes lead to unexpected results. We’ll discuss common issues you might encounter, such as dough that’s too sticky or a loaf that doesn’t rise, and how to resolve them effectively. Sourdough Variations: While our focus will be on the classic loaf, you'll also get a glimpse into the possibilities that sourdough offers. Learn how to make different types of bread and baked goods, expanding your skills beyond the basics. Advanced Sourdough: Bread Inclusions, Cupcakes, Crackers & More!Once you've mastered the basics, this is a great next step. You will learn how to add bold flavors to your bread, as well as use up your extra starter on some tasty new treats. If you are enrolling in advanced sourdough, you have previously taken Daniella's classes OR can care for a starter on your own. What to Look Forward To: Take-Home Samples: In addition to the starter and tools, you’ll leave with some of the delicious baked goods we create in class. Share them with friends and family or enjoy them yourself! Community Connection: Connect with fellow baking enthusiasts who share your passion. This class is not just about learning; it's also an opportunity to build friendships and exchange ideas.     "Move with Ease: Gentle Fitness for Joints & Joy" Do you have arthritis? Do you suffer from aches, pains, or stiffness in your joints? Do you get fatigued easily? Move with Ease is a low-impact, beginner-friendly exercise class designed specifically for those who want to stay active, reduce pain, and move more comfortably in their daily lives. Led by Kay Kahler, a certified instructor in the Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program (AFEP) with a BS in Physical Education and years of experience in older adult fitness, this class provides a safe and supportive environment to help you feel your best. All exercises are designed to be done seated, with the option to progress to standing as you're able. You'll learn: Safe and effective body mechanics Pain-free range of motion (ROM) exercises Techniques for muscle strengthening and endurance Soothing relaxation techniques to reduce stress and tension Leaving energized, uplifted, and ready to enjoy your day!

Missy Kahl is a paraprofessional from LFCHS and will facilitate these activities. Join us for a variety of crafts, activities, and fun throughout the year. You can even suggest a new activity they haven't tried yet! Class is held on the first Saturday of each month, and details for the specific activity will be shown in the 'section' information below.Please note: Attendees of many ability levels can participate, but if you require assistance to participate independently, please provide your own personal assistant and equipment as required for your participation. Fees are intended to benefit the participant of the class. All projects, activities and materials used for the class will only be provided for the participant. If you have any questions about what this can look like for you, please call Community Services and we can make a plan to fit your needs.
