  • Hall Walking

    Several Little Falls schools will be open for you to walk in during the fall and winter months. We encourage you to walk, using our school facilities to keep physically fit. All buildings are easily accessible and have level walking surfaces that are free of snow and ice! Schedules for hall walking are as follows: Lincoln Elementary 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM Little Falls Community Middle School 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM Dr. SG Knight (Randall) 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM Beginning October 16 all listed sites will be open Monday through Friday, except holidays. Other activities may be occurring in these buildings during walking hours. Access to area schools is as follows: Lincoln Elementary - Custodial Door #17 on the North side of the building Little Falls Middle School - Main Door #1 on the North side of the building Dr. SG Knight - Main Door #1 on the East side of the building Due to the high level of other activities that occur on a daily basis at Lindbergh Elementary and the High School, no walking access is allowed in those buildings. Because of security issues, it is required that you register with Little Falls Community Services before beginning your walking program. This also allows us to contact you in regards to any emergency closings, etc. Each participant IS REQUIRED to pick up their hard plastic hall walking pass from the Community Services office, located in Door #17 on the South side of the High School. You can also request to have your pass mailed to your address.
  • Private Pilot Ground School

    Interested in learning how to fly? This course is designed to prepare adults for the Private Pilot Knowledge Exam and an introductory flight with an instructor. At the end of this course, you will understand operations of the flight controls and instruments, airport and airspace considerations, aircraft weight and balance, aircraft performance tables, basic weather meteorology, federal aviation regulations, flight psychology, and emergency preparedness. After completing this course, aspiring pilots (16 years and older) will be prepared to take the F.A.A. Private Pilot Knowledge Exam. This is a great way to begin an exciting career in aviation or to start a new hobby. Taught by certified flight instructors provided by Lakes Area Aviation. High School participants will receive 1 H.S. credit upon course completion.

    These courses will cover everything from the basics to more advanced techniques. Bring your own machine, and learn what you never knew you could create! Sewing Maching Basics: Ready to pick up that needle and thread for the first time? Or finally take that sewing machine you bought out of the box and put it to good use? In Sewing Machine Basics we are going back to the basics, starting from scratch, and taking you step by step through all the essentials to make learning to sew a fun, useful and creative experience. Sewing Machine Basics is perfect for complete beginners & people who have sewn in the past but need a refresher, where they will learn how to competently use a sewing machine and complete a simple pillowcase using fabric provided. If your sewing machine has a known issue or is displaying an error code, please have it serviced and ready to sew before bringing it to class. Save Those Jeans!: In this class you will learn how to repair denim using various techniques on your sewing machine and by other methods. You'll be using lots of techniques that can also be hand-sewn. We will be cover patching (hand and machine), iron-on, peekaboo iron-on, specialty patches, and darning (darning requires a sewing machine.) Extra needles and scrap denim will be provided. Quilt Tops 101 - Basic Skills: This class will cover what you need to know BEFORE you get started. Topics will include, but not be limited, to cutting accurately, grain/crossgrain/bias and proper seam allowances and squaring. Consider this the 'Measure-Twice-Cut-Once' of quilting classes! Quilt Tops 201 - Memory Quilt: T-Shirt quilts are a great way to remember special events or a time in your life, such as graduations, retirements and races. The list of T-Shirt quilt themes can go on and on. We know there are people out there wondering how they're going to get that memory quilt done in time for their child or grandchild graduation, and this is the best place to start!   • Line Dance Introduction

    Learn (or review) the most popular line dances...and a few of our favorites! You'll be introduced to The Electric Slide, Cupid Shuffle, Copperhead Road, Cha cha Slide, Tush Push, Boot Scootin' Boogie, Saturday Night Fever, Black Velvet, Sixteen Steps, Wagon Wheel, Honky Tonk Stomp and more! Your session may include some line dance history, musicality, instruction and practice/review time. All participants are advised to dress in layers and bring a water bottle. Wear comfortable clothing and bring shoes with a smooth bottom that stay nicely on your feet (no flip-flops or work boots, please.) Suzy and Hondo School of Dance is a Social Dance and Ballroom Dance school in Bemidji, MN. Located in northern Minnesota, we serve the greater Bemidji area with lessons in Ballroom, Social, Latin, Swing, Folk, Fad, Fitness, Party and Line Dances. Our mission is to serve small town dancers and dance teachers.   • Running For Adults

    Running 101: Get fit this Spring. Reduce stress, lower your BMI and meet new people by joining Running 101. We'll take you through the steps to get started and improve your current fitness. No experience is necessary. This program includes not only running and walking, but adds exercises for strength, mobility and flexibility. Participants start with walking and jogging. By the end of the program, you will be able to complete a 5K run. You should be able to walk 20 minutes comfortably before class begins. Running 201: Run your way to a healthier you! This class takes Running 101 a step further. Participants begin with jogging and progress to longer miles. Speed training, exercises for strength, mobility and flexibility are also introduced. You may be able to complete a 10K at the end of this program. You should be able to jog 20 minutes comfortably before the class begins. Class may change location for variety in routes/workout, which will be communicated by the instructor. Class fee includes a T-shirt and workout book!
  • Adults with Exceptional Abilities

    Join Missy Kahl for fun activity with friends! Missy will host a variety of activities from day trips to the zoo, a morning of board games, cooking delicious food and so many more. You can even suggest a new activity they haven't tried yet! Class is held on the first Saturday of each month, and details for the specific activity will be shown in the 'section' information below. Please note: Attendees of many ability levels can participate, but if you require assistance to participate independently, please provide your own personal assistant and equipment as required for your participation. Fees are intended to benefit the participant of the class. All projects, activities and materials used for the class will only be provided for the participant. If you have any questions about what this can look like for you, please call Community Services and we can make a plan to fit your needs.
  • Adult Spanish Conversation - VIRTUAL

    Are you seeking opportunities to practice speaking Spanish? If so, this is the class for you! Instructors will engage participants each week with real-life conversation scenarios to encourage chatting and conversation. Conversation topics include 'un poco de todo' a little of everything and everyday Spanish. In this dynamic and hands-on class, participants will practice useful Spanish vocabulary and conversation components that can be applied to the home, workplace, travel, leisure, etc. Start speaking Spanish today! Open to new and previous Spanish conversation participants. Basic computer experience and the ability to access zoom is required. Option 1~ for beginner level participants Option 2~ for intermediate and advanced level participants *Please choose the option that best describes your skill level to be placed with participants for matching level conversation abilities and practices.

    PiYo is a music-driven, athletic workout inspired by the mind/body practices of Pilates and yoga that also includes flexibility, strength training, conditioning and dynamic movement. It is a high-intensity, low-impact workout that uses functional exercises to work the entire body. There is a class drop-in option available. You can attend the class dates that work into your schedule. Class drop-in rates are $10 per class and must be purchased online or via phone BEFORE the morning of the class.

    Summer is right around the corner, which makes this the perfect time to think of cozy nights on the porch! This class is a great option for a group of friends or family to get together, have a refreshing drink from Starry-Eyed, and learn a new craft. Join us for a fun night outside at Starry-Eyed Brewery creating a Patio Tabletop Fire Pot. All supplies are included in cost. A variety of ceramic pots and assorted colors of fire glass will be available to choose from.

Throughout this hands-on workshop, you'll learn the fundamentals of selecting the finest ingredients, balancing flavors and textures, and arranging your board with artistic flair. From savory cured meats to creamy cheeses, from crisp fruits to crunchy nuts, we'll explore the perfect combinations that cater to every palate.
